Careers Information, Advice and Guidance

Careers Information, Advice and Guidance

Aims

Our aim is to help our pupils to identify and to support their academic and career trajectories and in so doing, to boost their motivation and drive for their A Level studies.

Key Features

Personalised Tutorials

Tailored guidance through our personalised tutorial system ensures pupils receive advice and support that aligns with their unique interests, strengths, and aspirations. This individual attention enhances their learning experience, making it more relevant and engaging.

Exposure to Real-World Scenarios

Interactions with industry experts and company visits provide pupils with invaluable insights into the working world. This helps them understand the practical applications of their studies and the realities of different professions.

Informed Decision-Making

Regular career and university fairs and workshops equip pupils with the essential information to make well-informed choices about their future education and career paths.

Motivation and Aspiration

By visualising potential future careers and understanding the steps to achieve them, students are more motivated in their studies, recognising the importance and relevance of their education in achieving their goals.

What Sets Us Apart?

Our commitment to early skills development sets us apart. Through our volunteering programmes, pupils are given responsibilities across various areas, which cultivates empathy, deepens their understanding of societal needs, and enhances leadership skills. The Learn2Succeed initiative positions students at the heart of our school’s innovation efforts, encouraging collaboration across different departments to inject new ideas into our practices. This programme familiarises students with the formal job application process and opens doors to international work experience opportunities, preparing them for global career challenges.

Work Experience

Work experience offers you a unique opportunity to step into real-world professions. It's a chance to explore potential career paths and gain a deeper understanding of the inner workings of organisations and businesses.

All Lower Sixth pupils are encouraged to organise their own work experience which takes place during TCS Activities Week.

  • Enhancing student engagement and participation across various activities and projects.
  • Revolutionizing teaching approaches to make learning more interactive, enjoyable, and efficient.
  • Fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation within the department and among students.
